SINGER / SONGWRITER / GUITARIST

Steve has always been driven to write introspective views of life.  Although influenced by the likes of the Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, he has always written with a mellow personal style.  His mother was a trained opera singer and his father was an accomplished barbershop quartet singer.   Even with this influence in his youth, Steve didn't take to music until his stepbrother taught him some simple chords on the guitar. He was allowed to sit in on some jam sessions, even playing with bassist Gene Groom, who had auditioned for the Allman Brothers after Berry Oakley passed away. It was a big thrill for the boy who only knew 3 chords of music.

Steve formed two bands in Los Angeles, playing all original material, once performing at the legendary Troubadour club in West Hollywood.  The music never went anywhere, but it was a good learning experience.  Steve has never been one to play so called "cover" songs. He figures they've already been written and performed as intended by the original artist.  He strives to convey his own feelings through his words and music.
